Genesis Energy needed to upgrade their legacy Silverlight based map viewer – ‘GenEarth’ – to a modern HTML5 based map viewer. In October GBS completed an Esri Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS (WAB) based map viewer called ‘MapGen’. Like WAMS, MapGen is based on existing WAB widgets, GISCO widgets, some custom widgets for specific functionality and a custom WAB template. MapGen’s initial focus is providing easy map based access to the large amount of property data and easements that Genesis manage and the system is fully integrated into the new Genesis property management system. Part of the project was also migrating Genesis to ArcGIS Server 10.4.1 and Portal for ArcGIS. We look forward to working with Genesis to introduce more business units to the benefits of the Esri Platform.
